Amoxil Beecham 500 mg Capsules contain amoxicillin, a broad‑spectrum penicillin antibiotic used to treat infections of the respiratory tract, ear, nose, throat, urinary tract, skin and soft tissues, and some sexually transmitted diseases. The medication stops bacterial growth by interfering with cell wall synthesis.
Who is it for
These capsules are intended for adults and children who have been diagnosed with an infection susceptible to amoxicillin. Do not take if you are allergic to penicillins or cephalosporins. Patients with kidney problems may require dose adjustments. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult a healthcare professional before use.
Dosage
For many infections, the typical adult dose is 500 mg every 8 hours. For more severe infections, one 500 mg capsule may be taken every 12 hours along with another antibiotic if prescribed. Children’s dosing is based on body weight and usually ranges from 20–40 mg per kilogram per day divided into three doses. Always complete the full course as directed even if symptoms improve. Our pharmacist may reach out to review your symptoms and ensure the dosing is appropriate.
