Annmyoxifen Tamoxifen 20mg Tablet contains tamoxifen, a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) that blocks the effects of estrogen in breast tissue. It is used to treat hormone receptor‑positive breast cancer and ductal carcinoma in situ and can reduce the risk of breast cancer recurrence. Some people at high risk may also take tamoxifen to help prevent breast cancer.

Who is it for
This medication is prescribed for adults, including both women and men, with estrogen receptor‑positive breast cancer or ductal carcinoma in situ, and for women at high risk of developing breast cancer. It is usually not used in children except under specialist supervision. People with a history of blood clots, stroke, cataracts, liver disease, or taking anticoagulants should use caution. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not take tamoxifen and effective contraception is required during treatment.

Dosage
The usual adult dose is 20 mg taken once a day, or divided into 10 mg twice daily. For breast cancer treatment or prevention, therapy may continue for 5 years. Doses greater than 20 mg per day are usually split into two doses. Always take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor and follow your pharmacist’s advice.
