Aquazone Ceftriaxone Injection contains ceftriaxone, a broad-spectrum third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, making it effective against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It is used to treat serious infections such as pneumonia, meningitis, skin and soft-tissue infections, urinary tract infections, abdominal and pelvic infections, bone and joint infections, septicemia, and to prevent infections before surgery.

Who is it for
This medicine is for adults and children who require injectable antibiotic therapy for serious bacterial infections. It should be used only under medical supervision. Do not use if you are allergic to ceftriaxone, other cephalosporins or penicillins. Use with caution if you have kidney or liver disease, gallbladder disease, a history of gastrointestinal disease (especially colitis), or are taking calcium-containing IV solutions. It is not recommended for premature infants or newborns with jaundice. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before use.

Dosage
The dose and treatment duration depend on the type and severity of infection and your age and weight. Typical adult doses are 1–2 g once daily or in divided doses every 12 hours; severe infections may require up to 4 g daily. Uncomplicated gonorrhoea is treated with a single 250 mg intramuscular injection, while meningitis often requires 2 g every 12 hours. In children, doses are based on body weight (generally 50–80 mg per kg per day) and may be given once daily or divided. Treatment is usually continued for 4–14 days as directed by a healthcare provider. Your doctor or pharmacist will determine the appropriate dose for you.
